Twenty20 Community Cricket

The mission: cricket for all!

Twenty20 Community Cricket Ltd was founded in 2006, with one stated aim, to help breathe life back into state school cricket.

From the outset, coaches have been visiting local schools in the Epsom, Kingston, Richmond & Mole Valley Boroughs, running after school clubs, taster sessions, Chance 2 Shine lessons and holding assemblies. The main goal is to promote awareness or cricket, and boost participation in its most basic and fun-based form.

Onwards and upwards….

Twenty20 Summer Camps were introduced soon after. Day care and quality coaching for cricket loving children was provided over the holidays, at several Surrey cricket clubs. Through our courses, we can provide suitable coaching for all. A soft ball group is available for beginners, while more established players are offered hard ball training and matches.

Partnerships between Twenty20 and local clubs have blossomed, with Twenty20 lending experience, programs and coaching resources to a number of clubs in Surrey. Plenty of our partner clubs have grown their existing junior section, and their talented youth are being helped along to the final goal of adult cricket.

Present day

Today, Twenty20 organizes a huge range of cricket activities. Schools & clubs coaching, holiday camps, academies for improving players, assisting European clubs and coordinating blind cricket.

Children who first pick up a bat or a ball in a Twenty20 club or camp now have a potential pathway to District or Surrey cricket- via the Twenty20 State School Academy. With bi-weekly training through the calendar year, many of our boys and girls hone their skills, find their cricket identity, and represent the Academy in challenging fixtures around Surrey. Many of them go on to be selected for their local District or County side!

All our staff love cricket as much as ever, and we aim to introduce cricket among all groups!
